Located in Fèrebrianges, in the heart of the « vallée du petit Morin », Champagne Barbichon et Fils is the result of a family legacy passed down through generations. For decades, our family has cultivated the art of champagne-making, preserving an artisanal know-how while embracing the challenges of today.
Our profession is first and foremost a passion one that lives through every step, from the vine to the glass.

A Rich and Living Terroir

Our plots thrive on clay-limestone soils, characteristic of our region. This terroir offers a remarkable balance of finesse, freshness, and aromatic expression. Each grape variety finds its place here, depending on the soil and sun exposure.

The Three Iconic Champagne Grapes

We grow the three emblematic Champagne grape varieties:

  • Pinot Noir, for its structure and red fruit notes,
  • Meunier, round and fruity,
  • Chardonnay, which brings elegance, freshness, and finesse.

This diversity allows us to create balanced cuvées that reflect the identity of our house.

Vines Cared for All Year Round

Being a winegrower means working closely with the vines all year long. From winter pruning to harvest, including bud removal, trellising, and plowing, every task matters.
We practice responsible viticulture, with great respect for our soils and the environment.
Our commitment is officially recognized: we have been HVE (High Environmental Value) and VDC (Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne) certified since 2022.

A Passion Passed Down Through Generations

At Champagne Barbichon et Fils, working the vineyard is a family affair. Each generation has helped shape the identity of our house by passing on its gestures, values, and love for the craft.
This intergenerational link is at the heart of our philosophy: honoring tradition while looking to the future.

A 100% Hand-Harvested Crop

The harvest is a key moment, carried out entirely by hand, in the same way our elders once did. This traditional approach allows us to carefully select each bunch of grapes, ensuring their quality while honoring Champagne’s long-standing traditions.

We also have our own press, located at the heart of the estate. This enables us to press the grapes immediately after picking, preserving their freshness and aromatic potential. It is a true advantage that allows us to control every stage of the winemaking process from vine to bottle.

Precision and Patience in the Cellar

Champagne-making is a long and meticulous process, carried out in our own winery with high-quality, specialized equipment.
From the first fermentation to blending, from the second fermentation in bottle to aging on lees, each stage is managed with care and precision all to bring out the purity and character of our terroir.

Champagne Barbichon et Fils

is above all a story of family commitment, living soil, and a tradition carefully passed down.
Through our work, we aim to craft sincere, authentic, and generous champagnes true reflections of those who make them.
