Our Story

Nestled in the heart of Fèrebrianges, a charming village in the south-west of the Marne region, Champagne Barbichon et Fils is, above all, a story of family, passion, and heritage.

For four generations, our family has cultivated vines and crafted Champagne with dedication and deep respect for the land. Our viticultural roots trace back to around 1850, and the sale of our Champagne began in the early 20th century.

It was the maternal great-grandfather who became one of the first winegrowers in the village to market his own Champagne beyond the local area. He would set out on the road with a cart full of bottles, meeting his first customers one by one. This was the beginning of Fèrebrianges Champagne’s journey beyond the village.

On the Barbichon side, it was Louis Barbichon who first worked the vines. Since then, the passion for the land and wine has been passed down with care and pride.

And while men often carried the family name, women played an equally vital role in this story. They were present at every stage of the journey, passing on values, supporting each generation, often working behind the scenes, but always at the heart of the vineyard’s life. Their steady presence and commitment have been a quiet strength, without which none of this would have been possible.

Today, Fabrice carries on the work of his father Raymond, with the same high standards and dedication. Each generation has helped shape this legacy with one shared goal, quality above all.

Working the vines year-round, nurturing them with care to harvest healthy grapes at perfect ripeness, and giving power and soul to our Champagne, this is what drives our family every day.

Jules Barbichon now works alongside his parents, Marie-Caroline and Fabrice, marking the arrival of a new generation on the estate. Together, they continue this family journey with passion, ensuring that Barbichon et Fils remains a name associated with excellence.
